How do you think it will affect you? It's his body, your worrying too much. Would you say that if say he had his tonsils out? It's going to be okay, I promise.
It will be very painful - once he is healed he will be fine. The only way it will affect you is not having intercourse until it has healed.

Don't worry I don't think it'll have an affect on you, However if it does I advice you to change him or help him to get a penis transplant a fresh penis should be a welcomed change for both of you!! LOL :))))
